Erasmus-Gymnasium Rostock

The Erasmus-Gymnasium Rostock carries its name of Erasmus of Rotterdam since 1992 when the first pupils graduated high school. As first state-run high school in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern it implemented the all-day school model in 1999.
The Erasmus-Gymnasium is a general high school with specialisations in science, languages and arts. The school is involved in a number of projects that develops the concept of schooling and learning further, such as „Teamwork at school“ and „Living healthy – learning healthy“. The thematic focus on science is represented by cooperations and projects such as MINT (Mathematical and Natural Science Exellence Center) and SINUS (Increasing Efficiency of Mathematical and Natural Science Classes).
Currently 965 pupils are on roll (ages 11-19).

Ostseegymnasium Rostock

The Ostseegymnasium Rostock has a genaral focus as high school with some options for specialisations in mathematics and natural science. In class 9 and 10 the pupils deal with the subject Europe in the English language. Since 1999 children can attend special sport classes which have a different schedule in cooperation with different sports clubs in Rostock.
The school is member of an active school network around the Baltic Sea with regular visits and exchange of students. Close cooperations exist also with local companies to support enterpreneurial thinking and to provide guidance for choosing a profession.
Currently about 700 pupils are on roll (ages 11-19).

Berufliche Schule der Hansestadt Rostock Elektrotechnik/Elektronik

The Vocational School of the Hanseatic Town Rostock „Electro-technics/Electronics“ is a state owned school that combines several types of schools with different degrees to obtain. The Vocational School is a developing competence center with focus on information and communication technologies, process technology, building automation technolgy, energy technology and media technology.
There are currently about 1400 pupils on roll (ages 16 to 22), most of them finishing with a degree of „Skilled Technicians“ certificated by the Chamber of Commerce.
The focus of the school shifts more and more from electro-technics to information technology. About 550 pupils are getting trained in IT professions at the moment.
