Gymnasium and secondary school of ecomomics Trbovlje

Gymnasium and secondary school of ecomomics Trbovlje is a secondary school with two constitutive parts: general gymnasium and economy. The programmes are therefore divided into two groups: general programme, which is preparing students predominantly for further studies and more professionally oriented programme of economy. The course of study is four years and it ends with an external examination called the matura examination.
The school is situated in on of the less developed region of Slovenia, 50 km from the capital. In both programmes there are 675 students aged from 14 to 18.
It is one of the pilot schools in implementing ICT in the educational process. Since 1996 the school has been actively involved in projects organized or coordinated by Ministry of Education and Sport. Some of the most important projects are: Summer Schools CoLoS (Conceptual Learning of Science), the School Computer Network development and usage project, the School Intranet development project, the BIO project (educational wireless network) and the project Videoconference connections in classes. The school is a part of Slovene e-school network for teachers' in service programme for ICT usage and we are also a public e-point for the local community.
