| CIST has profound knowledge in exploiting the synergy between IT and educational technology. CIST is an interdisciplinary research and development institution of Sofia University motivated by the challenge to support the development, introduction and wide use of IST. The Centre is a Centre of Excellence in eLearning which supports at methodological and technological level the developments of several national projects, such as iSchool, National Teacher Training in ICT Program, Bulgarian Virtual University, eLearning content development initiative, national eLearning platform implementation, etc. CIST has been involved in more than 50 international projects, including 7 projects from the EC 6FP, 16 projects from 5FP, 5 projects from 4FP, several projects funded by Socrates, Leonardo da Vinci, Phare, World Bank, etc. CIST has built strong capacity in eLearning through participation in more than 20 national and international projects, such as the 6FP NoE Project Kaleidiscope “Concepts and methods for exploring the future of learning with digital technologies”, and the 5 FP IST Projects "WebLabs: new representational infrastructures for learning" and "DIOGENE: A Training Web Broker for ICT Professionals". | | |
PARTNER'S ROLE IN UNITE
Exploiting its good synergy between IT and educational technology expertise, the Center of Information Society Technologies Bulgaria (CIST) will lead the user requirements activities, being ahead of the assessment of the current status of both technology and pedagogy, upon which the project will be built. CIST will enrich the project with its experience gained through its participation in one of the two FP6 learning Networks of Excellence “Kaleidoscope” as well as the FP5’s “WebLabs: new representational infrastructures for learning”.
